The April Meeting ...

The Hoosier Hills Rug Hooking Guild met at their usual time and place April 9, 2016.  There were eight members present.  Lots of enjoyable time was spent visiting and hooking.  Also, Jan Cabel and Lois Moore brought refreshments which were enjoyed by everyone present.  Thanks!

Janice Spaulding, VP, called a brief business meeting to order about 11 a.m. and the few items of business were dispensed with quickly.  Those included discussing the member retreat which will be held in Vincennes on May 20 and 21.  Our retreat location will be changed due to a power outage on the VU campus and that change will be shared with those who have indicated they plan to attend.  People were reminded that if they want Arline Johnstone to assist them in some special way, with fabric or pattern for instance, they must notify her at once.  Arline's contact info was given.  About 12 people have said they will be attending.  The meal aspect of the retreat will be taken care of by the members from VU and they'll be bringing their findings to the May meeting, which will be one week before the retreat.

Lois told everyone that Jana has fallen and is at a rehab center at this time.  Her address was shared.

Judy Foster promised that she'll have the member ID cards ready for the next meeting.  A finalized membership list is also being prepared.

The business meeting was adjourned and everyone stayed to hook and visit some more.  Some work in progress is pictured below ...

Sharon Weiss was just starting this "Snowflake" design from Red Barn Rugs.  After this was taken she had a good beginning on her deep red background ...

Anne Horrall was working on this purple pumpkin!  Cute!
Betty Lawhead is sooooooo close to getting her strawberry chair pad finished!
Jan Cabel brought this wool applique table runner for show n' tell.  Lovely spring piece!
Jan was just getting a start on her hooked sheep mat during the meeting ...
here's the face which Jan had pinned in place.  It'll be appliqued on later!  Jan is so creative; we all can't wait to see this project complete.
Judy Foster finished this rug a few months ago and now she's working on ...
a needle punch mini version to match.  She just got started at the meeting.  Both full-size rug and needle punch design are by Margo White.
