March meeting highlights ...

The Hoosier Hills Rug Hooking Guild met at the library in Washington, Indiana March 12.  There were about 10 members present and two guests from Robinson, Illinois joined the group for a brief period.

The bulk of the meeting time was spent visiting and hooking with a short business meeting being held about 11:30.  President Noma Brizius called the meeting to order and the following items of business were covered:
  • The member retreat, which will be held May 20-21 at VU, was discussed.  The main decision being made was setting the menus for lunches and breaks.  Anne Horrall will be the liaison between the Guild and the VU food service and it was decided that she will be giving the count to them, due no later than the next meeting.  Also, Noma reported that Lois Moore will be making the instructor's room reservation at a Vincennes motel.
  • Judy Foster will print 2016 membership cards so they can be used for discounts at fabric stores, especially JoAnn Fabrics.
There was some work brought for show and tell, pictured below.  Remember, next meeting will be Saturday, April 9, at the library in Washington.  Visitors are always welcome!
Teresa Kinman brought this really cute bunny rug.

She also brought this Easter egg; this is the back of the egg -- pieced ...

... and this is the front of the egg -- hooked!

Teresa also brought this prodded sheep rug for show and tell.  She did a beaded border and later showed a couple people how this technique is done.  Lots of Easter season projects coming off of Teresa's frame!

Anne Horrall just started working on some pumpkins.  (She got a lot done later, during the meeting.)

Sue Kuehl is working on some snowmen coasters, each with a different hat!  Very clever!

Jan Cabel just finished hooking and binding this large Monticello rug.  It is gorgeous!  Sometimes pictures can't do a rug justice, and this is one of those time!  Jan says she's thinking about her next project ...
